El pasado jueves 12 de noviembre pasamos un magnífico día visitando el aeropuerto de San Javier. La monitora que nos hizo la visita guiada, Irene, es una persona increíble y paciente con los niños/as (en realidad, trabaja en el aeropuerto como controladora de las llegadas y salidas de aviones pero siempre encuentra un hueco para realizar visitas guiadas para colegios, ¡¡de manera totalmente altruista!!!).
Last Thursday we went on a trip to San Javier airport. The monitor was Irene, a very patient and incredible young woman who, in fact, works at the airport monitoring the arrivals and departures of the flights but she always finds the time to do a guide tour with schools for free!!!!!!)

Hicimos todo el recorrido como si fueramos pasajeros tanto para salidas, para embarcar en el avión (fingimos que ibamos al aeropuerto Orly en Paris) como, más adelante, pasajeros llegando al aeropuerto. Nos explicó todos los pasos a seguir.
También tuvimos una charla informativa y exhibición de los bomberos del aeropuerto así como de los halconeros y de la función que ejercen los halcones en los aeropuertos como medida de prevención de accidentes de los motores de los aviones. Si tenéis alguna duda al respecto, preguntad a vuestros hijos/as, ellos/as seguro que os saben contestar perfectamente. Les interesó todo muchísmo y estuvieron muy atentos todo el tiempo.
We did all the itinerary as if we were either arrival passengers or departures passengers (we pretended to go to Paris airport "Orly"). She explained us every step we had to do.
We also had an informative talk and exhibition done by the airport fire fighters. The falconers also explained to us the function of the falcons at the airports as a measure to avoid accidents in the planes engines. If you have any doubt about it, just ask your children, it's sure they will answer you perfectly. They were very interested in everything and paid attention all the time.

PD1.- Este reportaje os puede servir para conversar con vuestros hijos/as acerca de la excursión que hicieron paso a paso; creo que es una buena manera de facilitar el acercamiento padres-hijos y, a la vez, propiciar y mejorar su expresión oral. ¡Animadles a que os cuenten sus vivencias acerca de ese día!
PD1.- Este reportaje os puede servir para conversar con vuestros hijos/as acerca de la excursión que hicieron paso a paso; creo que es una buena manera de facilitar el acercamiento padres-hijos y, a la vez, propiciar y mejorar su expresión oral. ¡Animadles a que os cuenten sus vivencias acerca de ese día!
PD2.- Los vídeos no se verán muy bien pues están hechos con mi móvil pero Toñi y Judith se turnaron para grabar con una cámara de vídeo y cuando lo editemos lo colgaremos también en el blog.
PD3.- El objetivo de este viaje, aparte de lo interesante que es ya de por sí saber cómo funciona un aeropuerto y de verlo in situ, era, por supuesto, que el alumnado tome conciencia de la importancia que tiene saber idiomas (sobre todo, inglés) así que también hice fotos de todos los rótulos y pantallas del aeropuerto para, ya en clase, comentarlas.

Ps1.- This photographic report can be useful to chat a little with your kids about the trip; I really believe is a good way for you to ease the personal attachment parents-kids and, at the same time, improve their oral expression. Encourage them to share their experiences with you!!!!
Ps2.- The videos are taken with my mobile phone so they won't be seen properly and clearly; anyway, Judith and Toñi took turns to record with a good video camera; the moment we edit what they recorded, it will be uploaded to the blog.
Ps3.- The aim of this trip, apart from the functioning of an airport in situ, was, of course, that the pupils realise about the great importance of learning other languages (mainly English); therefore, I also took pictures of every poster or screen in which we could find words in English so that later, in class, we can talk about them.
